Some Zbrush sculptings from today. This guy was a hardsurface test in Zbrush. Some warrior like that which can be placed in some war scenarios in the future. Currently Wip, try to work this guy out.
Nice! Very innovative. I'll remember this for future projects. I can see the same concept being applied to grass and such, or even pre modeled and pre rendered surfaces like bricks and stone tiles.
Unfortunately I lost parts of the mesh so I won't be able to get him posed without redoing the low, bakes, and texture. Stinks, but I sure will backup my files better in the future.
I think I put a few hundred hours into it along with the future cities expansion. I also got to the galactic center with at least 2 species in spore. RIP in my favorite game studio.
haha. We have some great ideas for future contests but I dont see anything wrong with some half broken up statue or something. It might be a challenge to stay under 2k though. :)
Dumping the work I've doing lately here to keep the record. The actual model for the Threedy's new competition: Animal Warrior The male basemesh for practice and future re-using: And a female one for the same purpose:
Heres a website that has some great pictures of birds wings, good feather references. Seems like you are doing fur, but its good for future reference. http://www.ups.edu/biology/museum/wingphotos.html
sorry guys, I can't say anything more on kz2. NDA. super- 3dcreature is going to be down for the time being, i do have plans for it in the future but just not now. been awfully busy.
@renderhjs: Thank you for the advices and ideas, and for letting know about this great tutorial. I hope we will be able to add such a functionality in the future version. I appreciate a lot your really helpful post!
i'm talking to programmers sometimes and ask for a mathematical solution. but i'm not that good in math so it will take time. also i don't can spend so much freetime sparetime in this. but maybe it will be successful in the future.
