Hey @BestiART the studies are coming along pretty well! Two critiques i have concerning the back muscles. Make sure the trapezius muscles connect down all the way to the 12th thoracic vertebrae (the last rib). Right now it is way too short. And also check out your tricep muscle (it's a little small, compare common tendon…
No serious games engine out there right now does opacity sorting in 3D space, it's way too expensive as it conflicts with the whole massively parallel streaming nature of how graphics cards work now. Either way it breaks down into two batches on the GPU. (likely instanced) You might as well use the first method as it makes…
Great thread! Read your posts and the replies and felt inspired :) Your textures also look amazing, I hope one day to be on that level too. One thing I would say on the piece, are the stone stairs from the blockout you showed two posts ago. It looks like you have 3 or 4 steps to one step of the wooden ladder. Imo you could…
Very cool! I like the back area's design in particular. Face is looking pretty hot too! Two small comments: - The grey shoulder pieces feel kind of stiffly laied on there. Maybe give them some curvature to contour to her shoulder shape? - The very top forehead part of the helmet feels bulbous to me. Kind of…
Hey Bianca, looking good overall but I'd say some of the movements are too quick/sharp. The two main sections that I noticed were when he sits back into the chair. Its very quick and stops very abruptly (there is no overlap). The other is on the last animation, his torso rotation and arm seem to move and stop very suddenly…
Hey Rodney, I'm having a heck of a time getting an email through. I keep getting failure messages, something about the size of the email. I'm sending a zip file that's 16MB of some images. Is that too large, or is the inbox full? I've tried more times than I care to say aloud (should show my dedication, ha). Any solutions…
Another update on the Leo 2 A4. Now the commanders cupola is completely finished, along with the PERI and i have now sub-div'd the main turret itself and placed some weld joints. The welds may appear a little too pronounced on the turret shell, but i think they should bake down just fine. All that remains is the loaders…
Cheers for the advice so far, to answer Eric’s question, I’m using 3ds Max for modelling. I’m mostly thinking of this as a Portfolio asset, but I’m interested in how I’d apply this in a game engine too as I want to learn the most efficient workflow for this. as of right now I used the two materials to get it working…
I'm with hawken here. I too really dislike the character designs in Halo, be it Master Chief or the other explosion of random coloured aliens. Sure they are distinguishable from a distance and are vibrant so you can pick them out from the environment. Not everyone happens to be a Halo fanboy. *high fives hawken* The vid…
During polishing and bugfix, there was one issue with the rumble strips in a spot on one of the tracks being waaaay too high - on the outside edge they were something like two and a half or three feet high, making them basically a ramp. Before I fixed it, I must have spent a good 20 minutes trying to see if I could get…
