I haven't looked into it, but I don't think you can. The buttons in the default materials have extra functionality built in that isn't accessible through maxScript buttons, at least that I know of. Let us know if you do figure it out though.
his forearms look a bit short. and trying to keep realistic proportions doesn't mean he can't be a little stronger. his arms just look very weak to support a warrior lifestyle, let alone to match a body that can function in that armor.
I really like it, lovin those boots o' badassery. My concern is with the functionality of the design, how well can this character rotate his arms at the shoulder? Almost seems like his arms are restricted to little more than where they currently are.
Max and Maya seem to be the most consistently popular packages in my experience. Use Max, it's more functional than Maya (straight out of the box, anyway). Use Maya if you're an animator. That's how I see it anyway. Can I get a witness?
I'm liking it. The keypad seems a bit small it's hard to get a sense of scale. I think even if you put a simple silhouette of a human next to your graphic, it would help a lot with imagining the functionality and location in an environment of this piece. Cool design :) .
[ QUOTE ] Dom: Thats a screen from the viewport? How'd you get the eyes to glow like that? [/ QUOTE ] Not sure but he may just be using a glow function on a material under the effects tab and have it set to the eyeballs material to emit a glow and light.
Glad it works across browsers! Alright, you guys can keep track of my progress on http://Beta.3dCodex.com , though it's not functional yet. Please let me know if you have any feature requests or ideas about new directions!
have you done CRT+LCD mode on your laptop? That may be the easiest. Use your laptop screen for one display and the external display for the other. Usually the toggle is a one of the blue function buttons plus the key that looks like a little monitor.
unless console introduce new next gen tech. the graphic quality will be outpaced by multi function devices like handheld/phone or pc in upcoming years living room experience? we will see small phone or next gen handheld nintendo/psp can be ported to hdtv.
I use selection sets, but they're functionally identical to polygon tags really. The only reason I don't use materials is I (usually) have colour id materials already added, which themselves are useful for selection, so I tend to leave them alone.
