I'm taking a step back from the floating island scene to move onto something else, hopefully I can come back to it with a bit fresher of eyes. The next project I'm working on is going to be building modular assets for the first stage of an Auto-Runner (think Monster Dash, Canabalt) that I've been kicking around for a bit…
Heya PixelSuit! Thanks for the comment, the piece doenst have to be exactly like the original, its just a starting point for me to try and apply some of the stylised sculpting i love from darksiders! I get marked on the 1st of march for the sculpting progress, the normal mapping bake result, and the low poly mesh, i see…
Overall, I like it. The textures and geometry look well executed, and you've done a good job of creating a believable scene from a small manageable asset set. A few things do occur to me as potential improvements. The arches on the right side could probably be a bit better defined by a strip of trim texture that follows…
Thanks for the great crits guys! @letronrael: totally agree on the colors... I'll tighten it up. I'll bring out the skull some more too.. I think the lighting is killing the textures as well, so I'll attack it from both ends. Ground hasn't been touched at all yet, so I should have that updated next post. @toxic: Should I…

Thank you for the information you have already provided in this blog. It looks very nice. Could you help me with some questions I have regarding your unwrapping and texturing? So you have created a tileable stone material (brick) but how are you handling all other brick related materials? How would you texture a stone arc?…
Hello, I have an augmented reality app called AR Shortstop already in the App Store, but I've been consistently receiving feedback about people don't really like the graphics. Video below: https://goo.gl/7qF6SW WHAT I NEED: -I really just need 2 dae/obj models: a low poly baseball stadium with "fans" and a baseball runner…
Hey guys, again thanks for the support, and crits. It helps greatly. More Greens on the Bronze it is! I'll whip up a quick example, and post it when I can. I am up north at the moment helping a friend move. I'll post up some wire frames as soon as I get back. @ DWalker: I had to use a darker Brown Lime stone for the Main…
Hi! The pattern of the stone wall (second material) looks a bit unnatural. I think this is because of the sharp thin stones and wide gaps (in some cases wider than stones) and the way the stones are stacked (many poles, no rows/layers, little overlap of stones, would work more for ground),. Keep it up!
