Look into doing a System Restore. Hopefully you'll have a restore point to some day before the update happened. -

The brush menu? That will pop up if your right-click while using the paintbrush or anything that uses the brush system. -

UT2K4 has a great auto-blending system and a little head movement won't interrupt the ability to look around. -
