Your art is really cool, man. Awesome values and textures. And your portfolio of 3d stuff is obviously super sick. This isn't something i'm any better at, but i think the composition on your environments is really weak, and holding them back quite a bit. Do you have any books or videos on the subject of creative…
hey Beno, still going strong I see :) The color palette is still refreshing to see. I do think your scene will become compositional more interesting if you introduce some bushes and/or some potential occluding objects. Adding them to your pallete will give you more creative options. Keep it up!
Nice idea oXY. I had high hopes for Games-Artists mini comps, but I dont like the fact that you have to follow a design. Same with GA's minis...they tend to be all about adapting an existing design. Seems the only time we are called on to be really creative is Dom-War, UC, and the polycount mini challenges.
cool! thanks for the tip. BTW i liked your sound samples on your site. Cool to see some creative work from that side of the design process. I like to play around with synthesis a little bit in my free time. Lotta fun. There doesnt seem to be very many game sound guys around =/
The concepts are really nice, and even demonstrate the ability to show some originality and creativity within a constrained pre-determined environment/world like the one established in Half Life 2. They also appear to have enough functionality as a concept that they do not appear they'd pose a problem to a modeller. So…
I wonder how much of the dota 2 functionality is included! Unity and Unreal are architectured around certain ideas, which makes certain things difficult. (there is a reason there is no serious rts efforts happening in either). Hopefully Source2 has enough of a difference in architecture that it spurs new creativity. Really…
so original and creative...so obvious...so PAINFULLY obvious to do, and yet ive never seen anyone do it... >_< looking f'ing awesome though bro great job, you need to get some sort of colored lighting into it though, that would be badass. Some sort of "tube light" on the edge or something would be crazy looking
Don't think so. Lots of people are actually submitting their own music in many genres under creative commons license. For reel purposes, it's not hard to find litigation-free soundtrack anymore. Can't blame youtube too, turning stricter with copyright, since they now have a "partnership" program going on where they split…
yes close, and i love it! i need more creative animation and style like codehunter ... actually codehunter itself is urban mtv style, since gorrilaz but even more anime style i think codehunter maker d proud to see borderland. since its anime also has lots of awesome borrowed elements.
wow. that is really obvious. The crazy thing is they didn't even have the creativity to at least TRY to do something new. He's got the same crazy sound effects and everything. And it looks way shittier too. I can actually see this happening. Some High ups at game companies aren't as vigilant as you might think.
