Your welcome, just adding in more, since i took advantage of the Cold climate and decided it was a perfect time to play with temps and settings to sort out my own issues below is an explanation with possible solutions to issues. I saw a gpu repairer/upgrader on youtube brought up gpu issues and says a lot of users seem to…
I'm making his thread, for some possible critiques/suggestions for some character art works I'm making. Here's a High Elf I'm making. I canceled it because I'm working on something else. Current progress
Hey there. Made an account just to leave a reply here. I've been a 3d artist for well over 25 years and I have to say your work is top notch. The attention to detail and models are excellent. I think you have to remember that we're going through a period where ppl that worked at Pixar for 20 years can't find a job, so it's…
I feel the synthetic feel in games and 3D in general has two main causes: - Lack of technical capacity of engine (or performance and time constraints when authoring) Engines are very good at displaying an staggering amount of tris now, have better lighting solutions, high resolution textures and more. Yet as pointed out…

I've been using…

@eld: some more discussion around the topic (local vs tangent) was in this thread http://boards.polycount.net/showthread.php?t=60694, if you want to I can walk you (or anyone else) through the math involved
zbrush has a 150k polygon limit for baking and uv'ing even though it handles higher meshes with ease. I never understood why thats an imposed limit when everything else is so much higher.
Really cool subject for a student scene, a bunker like this gives you a lot of room to flex both art direction and tech. I’d really lean into the desk + computers as the clear hero – treat it like a film shot: highest texel density and detail there, and let the cabinet/radio wall sit a bit quieter in saturation and…
