I did try it but no luck. I've been testing so much back and forth with like 10 different exported models and normal maps so I will do what m4dcow did, and see if that helps me. I will post here when I have. Regards
@m4dcow - Thanks, I see what your getting at.. I've began to look into maxscripting and hopefully will start being able to come up with handy tools to aid with asset creation @haiddasalami - Might have just been the server being meh... loaded fine for everyone so far
m4dcow, I get a syntax error at cmds.select(cl=True) thanks for the info about the double clicking on the faces to select everything, thought Trios just ment double clicking the object :) and the merge on the entire object worked like a charm to merge the all the verts with the set threshold, thanks a ton :)
@ m4dcow Ah, so does it mean the vcols in xNormal was built specifically for the non-standard obj polypaint of zbrush? As for your workaround, sounds pretty solid. I do have a dumb question though, I seem to be losing my UVs when using GoZ. How can I retain the UVs?
Thanks everyone for there responses! M4dcow it seems that the issue is directly affected by the rotation of normal mapped assets as you have mentioned. Joopson that thread did prove to be really useful "DeadlyFreeze" has on several threads summed up the issue and has given advice regarding solutions. Thanks again everyone!…
@M4dCow: I never even though to bake them straight on. I was worried that I would miss the edge detail on the bricks that wrap around. I suppose it's not super important to have a those tiny details. I'll be back with some tests. If anyone has any other suggestions I'm all ears. Thanks!
m4dcow - Thanks! The bottles work from most angles, Some better than others. monkeymintata - Yeh I'm still experimenting with the texture. Some of it will come in the reflection layer. only had a little bit of time to work on it today. Update on the shelves. They still need detail pass Lamp - still missing emmisive etc…
Thanks Cyrid, never seen all these tutorials in a handy collection like this before. Great link! m4dcow, I always come across different types of displacement maps. Can you make details in zbrush and put a displacement material on them instead of normal? Anyone have any tutorial links where displacement maps are exported…
You might need to wait more than 40 minutes and 5 minutes for a response. Being desperate isn't going to make people post faster or better. Have you tried any of the tips here http://www.zbrushcentral.com/showthread.php?t=110022 or looked at the model in another application to see if the UVs are correct? Have you tried…
@ m4dcow Thank you that fixed my in-game viewing problem. I know it was a simple fix. Now I'll just adjust my proportions and I think I should be good to start modeling. The reason I am doing all this is because in the past I have had trouble with proportions so I want to get it right from the beginning. Thanks.
