Here's another one... Thanks to those that helped me along the way. Of course comments and crtiques are still welcome. Filtered Presentation Sheet: UnFiltered Presentation Sheet: Animated Gif 360:
if you want to see your low res pixel textures without any blur just set the texture filtering to unfiltered, that way the texture will be displayed as is.
thanks everyone yeah, most of them are showing in a shader that doesn't allow texture filtering to be disabled but i can move them to marmoset for unfiltered shots sometime
Looks like they have an unfiltered specular texture overlayed for the pattern. In UDK after importing a texture open it up in the content browser (double click it) and set "Filter" to "Nearest".
I was in seattle the last few days talking to our seattle studio about various bits of tech. As i took some pics along the way. Here they all are, unfiltered, unnamed and unsorted. cheers! seattle pic page
+1, I usually go in and turn off filtering in 3dsmax, because textures start looking sharp and fine, and when making anything lowend, I always go for the unfiltered! \m/
Yes it's on purpose. The pixels are large, and unfiltered. It's an old-school method, from back when hardware wasn't fast enough to smooth thimgs out. You can disable texture filtering to get this look.
Updates from today! Finished base diffuse, with ambient occlusion baked into the texture using maya, and some transparency through the alpha channel. Texture is unfiltered according to assignment speccs, 128x128. Feel free to tell me what you think!
