Computer science is the last thing you want to study in. Many programmers don't even do computer science, that field is more for people who want to study algorithms, driver design, OS design, etc. Consider what Paul said, as Dallas and the surrounding area is a great place to go to school especially if you are a liberal . -

Very interesting subject matter. I agree most of the issues in the back and forth are generic issues. At ND we outsource many assets and yes having to review assets on a daily basis for just our individual levels is time consuming. This. Every polygon should have a purpose. I say exercise your art muscles first before you can build muscle. Start with small projects: head studies, anatomy studies, really observe, then tackle a larger project. Your model wasn't bad per se, but yeah keep going -

The lighting seems relatively flat making it difficult to give critique. Are you working with PBR (albedo, roughness, and metallic maps)? Or are you trying to do it old school with diffuse, spec, and gloss? If you're trying to do a material study I would opt for studying PBR. Everything is more or less moving in that… -

Getting better - I would strongly advise you to go to some life drawing classes and study anatomy, do some studies like skeletal and musculature sketches. Work on the fundamentals and it will really breathe life into your work, I've seen the benefit that stuff can have on an artist's work first hand.
