Weeeeird! I`ll chime in and say a wrinkle study is probably in order as its dragging down an otherwise intriguing piece. (I still need to jump on the wrinkle study bandwagon myself). The seam where they attach makes me feel really uncomfortable for some reason. Arbys roast beef comes to mind. :P coming along ! -

lol I meant study what Michelangelo did, not follow in his path and become a modern day Frankenstein. You can see the end result by looking at his sculpts and studies. Although if I got offered a chance to work at a cadaver lab, I would probably take it. As long as I can bring a sketchbook and a camera. -

no ranting :) you have the right to your own opinion. and yeah studies are always good regardless. i do studies all the time and i do full characters at the same time. to me any doing is learning. doesnt matter what it is im learning. and no i dont paint or draw. at all. im terrible at drawing lol -

Your perspective studies are really good. Seems like the perspective is giving you something to rely on so that your drawing becomes better. If you could get the same confidence in your coloured work you'd improve heaps. If I were you I'd do some colour studies, draw some apples and what not ;) . -

That is my point. Drawing them and studying them in 2D will be far more beneficial for the developement of his skills in the long run. In either 2d or 3d. Instead of modeling a lowpoly silhouette version of a leg, he could draw many different types of them in a shorter amount of time and just drill down on studying that… -

Yep, it's definitely good to stick to something and persevere, but every once in awhile take breaks from this character and do some other studies. When you go back to her you will have learned something new, feel refreshed, and progress much faster. Overall studies will help the flow of your project, not slow it down ;) -

good decision you could also take the book from Gottfried Bammes about cloth and wrinkles, but in the mean time, theres nothing better then studies from real cloth, or you could study the old masters, photographs etc. there are so much ways to learn how to sculpt cloth, don't stay with only one book
