looks really nice, great textures! but i dont see any big differences from minecraft, is there any features that pushes it further? the video makes me think it would have more rpg elements than minecraft, but the steam page fails to mention any.
Then keep cool. You can add a lot of details and reusable elements before you're going to hit the limit of this budged. And the more texture space you reuse from your unique texture for different pieces of your asset the higher the overall texel density will get.
I'm definitely diggin' that character! Very nice intermix of areas of rest and detail - keeps your eye moving around to individual elements. Looking forward to seeing some color go down on that sculpt. You taking her to all the way to a game-ready state?
It's not bad if you only do a part, just specify you only set out to do certain elements. As long as what you made looks the best it possibly can, you're usually good. But so much of this will be dependent on how you present the assets as well.
Alrightie, its been a while since I've posted an update, so here goes. I've got some basic lighting in here. Still quite a few unfinished elements and missing textures. Let me know what you guys think. Go nuts!
As mentioned, your scaling is a bit off, IMO. Might be the FoV, but something definitely makes your version feel more empty/spacey. And that's not a painting/concept, it's an in-game screenshot with a few elements painted in IIRC. You can even see the Anti-Aliasing in the original shot.
I added some basic elements to dress her and gave some color to it. Weapons develop design will be probably the hardest part of the work. I am still working on the color theme. I want to keep it simple. I will post some other samples soon ;)
Changelog: Extrude Along Path is updated to version 1.1. - Now the extruded faces can be separated as an element of the selected object. In this case you can choose to cap or not the start holes, remaining after the extrusion. - You can use "Cap End: to cap or not the end faces.
nice explanation :) but i still find problems in choosing architectural style and color palette , would you explain how you would aproach such things , keep in mind im going for a sci fi style combined with some natural elements like jungle and forests...
Hi Jonathan, Thanks for letting me join in the Quixel gang. :) I downloaded the software patch and installed it, still it has not helped in any way to resolve this display scaling issue I mentioned about. All the UI elements of 3DO are still tiny like ants. :(
