I did a Cheetah portrait in my free time  Part 1 and Part 2 of the speedpaint are up on my YouTube page if you are interested in watching just look up "Cheetah Study Pt 1" or "Cheetah Study Pt 2" hope you enjoy!
Not bad for a first head - don't worry about texturing right now, just concentrate on getting your facial anatomy looking correct first. Study loads of reference and then study some more, faces are one of the hardest things to model so they require a lot of practice. Good luck :)
Hi there! We’re a freelance agency currently looking for a low-poly 3D modeler for an upcoming project with a small indie studio. We’re aiming for a style similar to PS1 or PS2-era games. If you're interested, feel free to DM us with your portfolio and your rate per asset. Looking forward to hearing from you!
Thanks Jipe, some great comments. Yeah I see where you're coming from on the lack of experience thing, I guess it doesn't make sense to expect a studio to hire you freelance without knowing if you're capable of the workflow/deadline from previous experience. I should rephrase my original question. I'm totally open to…
ouch. Germany is getting better as game dev country, but it's still painful to see how small the industry is (not counting all the money grubbing "monetization first!" mobile studios). My recommendation would be trying the UK. It's still over 2 years to the Brexit, and your first job surely won't be your final one. 1 - 2…
Larger studios will typically want you to deliver your files in Max or Maya scene format. A simple FBX or OBJ usually won't cut it for more advanced stuff (like highpoly subd and the like). Generally studios will want you to set up your scene in a specific manner in a specific app, bake in a specific way, name the files in…
Twenty-minute figure studies from Croquis Cafe. Also, with friends was doing this certain thing - smashing together 2 refs and doing totally another thing. Here it was "Two-handed sword" and "Deadly dagger" My interpretation of the theme "Knight of the future" and face study.
Here's another series I'm working on. I take the works of French painter William Bourguereau and use them to to study anatomy. That guy had some serious skills. Maybe I'll learn some by studying his work, lol. Here's the first: Le Crepescule
Your best flesh based piece yet. It's rare we get to see people go beyond crossing off the major anatomy landmarks in a figure and instead look toward naturalistic development of a form shaped by a lifetime of behaviour. It's the difference between an anatomy study and a character study, great stuff.
Haha thanks ladyknowles! Been getting used to max so hope to get some good 3D flow again soon! Had some more time to focus on 2D. Studies and silhouettes :) posemanic quick sketches. This is a quick study of Ben Olson's concept! Some Thumbs :)
