thank you for sharing your workflow for the hair man! Never seen the duplicated model + painted mask before, great stuf. Model looks awesome, I'd suggest a bit more gradual transition from hair to sking though.
Thanks LOTET! I did it with fibermesh and some alpha textures. It`s easier to control it by using masking. Will post some vids about it later maybe. Still need to improve it, looks like some carpet on the legs at the moment :s
@Jaston3D I was planning to do it through shaders. Wanted to create a bunch of alpha masks for the background, the rings and the text and use some panners and rotators to animate the text and rings. Maybe I'll start with it tomorrow to see how that worls
Mostly brushes, for some of the smaller cracks I took a picture of a old wall, which i then made gray and added a soft light to, which i afterwards liquified and sharpened, and masked most of the parts away from. Thanks for the compliment!
For the wiggling tentacle, you could use the WorldPositionOffset parameter in the material and a SimpleGrassWind Node. Using weight paints as a mask, you can get more distortion in the tip of the tentacle versus the base. Further reading that could put you on this course.
Other question , I was adding glass to a cockpit and it worked, I wanted to replace with Gold , same mask , but the gold doesn't shows up , I tried gold 24 k is there a reason why gold don't work and other yes?
For completeness sake, passing along information on what the spec input in UE4 does: "It's used as a masking function on specularity. So it is really a cavity map. Anything above 50% grey gets extra highlights everything below gets AO. "
Yeah that's some good advice Rasmus, thanks. Actually! - I'm flattered you think it was done with dDo haha. I textured it all in Photoshop and just used 3Do for easy live preview. I will look at editing my masks :)
@lotet Hey ! Thanks a lot for the feedback Lotet ! :) I completly agree with you, I'm going to continue the work on her today while keeping in mind your toughts and tips ! And yup don't worry the mask is going to be normal cloth :)
I don't recall ever seeing that mask you're referring to - I've been using SUITE since 1.X and never encountered it to the best of my knowledge. You should easily be able to replicate it using the DynaMask editor though!
