he seems off balance - try either moving his feet back a bit or raising his ass and moving his shoulders forward. getting all the hard surfaces will be the trick with this guy. he's got some nice proportions, but everything is too soft and gooey at this point. i'm looking forward to seeing where you take him.
Your texturing (especially the shot of the seated woman struck me this way) looks like it's a normal-mapped model, displayed without normalmaps or specular. You don't just need more colour in your shadow and highlights, you need more shadow and highlights. Use sharpness and softness between two colours to create contrast…
i think it's shaping up and is coming together, but the surfaces of the handle aren't very smooth and the edges make the shape look blobby. the 3 groves look a little too deep, and again a little too soft edged, and the tips of the shape seems a little too pinched than in the concept. a few more tweaks now and you should…
[ QUOTE ] There wasn't anything after the credits. just a black screen and some static noise. too soft to make out what it was but it sounded like some radio transmission with a lot of noise. [/ QUOTE ] minor spoiler here i guess..... dsad asd a dasd adsasds "its still alive" backwards on the radio…
awsome improvement, now the big thing other than color that bugs me is the contrast in your texture resolution. look at the ground compared to the stone in the wall. one is "soft" then the other one is harsh and very pixelated. keep it up. Also giving it some foundation to the base will make it look like it was actually…
Crazybump is a crutch. Real men use Zbrush or paint the normal maps with a soft airbrush in Photoshop. FACT. EDIT: nVidia normalmap filter is still the bee's knees kids, don't ever forget that. EDIT #2: Yes this post is sarcastic. And yes there's a point to it; Hopefully those who aren't quite grasping Crazybump's value…
Hi, There's a new version available. Besides fixing some bugs it works on 64 bit Maya 2008! There's also a new tutorial that covers creating glow. Harryscary276: Of course you can show it to your teachers :) . the plugin should work on ATI. There will be some problems while trying to use some of the features like soft…
good pointers guys. I will take note, hopefully I can include that physiology part into the texture work and play around with the lowpoly volumes to get something decent. the lower part of his forehead is actually supposed to be softer but not like baby skin soft, thats where his brain is...oooh now we are going into…
I had a soft spot for the Aliens Vs Predator arcade, the sheer number of drones to thwock was a sight to behold. Punching the Queen in her ovipositor was cool, too. Anyone remember the name of this: you could toggle between two characters: a tiny dude with a flail riding a tiger or a tiny dude on the shoulder of a giant.…
Ben you could probably use the Edit Normals mod, then use RTT to bake a normalmap. But Autodesk didn't really do a great job providing options in that modifier, like there's no soft-select. I think it'd be horrendous to have to rotate all those normals one by one. Hey CB that's pretty cool, I like the hatching on the globe.
