Which software is a good one to start? Max or Maya? I've been meaning to dive into countless hours of studying 3d (I've had attempts, but all I can do is self-study for now).
Time for an update!! Some more anatomy studies I have been doing lately, although I have been doing specific studies to learn the skeleton i decided to move onto poses.
http://www.posemaniacs.com/ may be what you're looking for. Some love it, some don't, I find it can be good for quick gesture poses but for obvious reasons not great for value study / surface detail study.
Hello, I want to share with you guys the results of my last personal project, which was a game ready character I made from scratch to study the whole pipeline, I shared some pics on my diary topic but I wanted to share with the people that don't usually see that kind of thread but maybe they would find it cool. Also you might want to remove your anatomy studies and creatures. That is your weakest work. The environment stuff that you have is decent and i think your portfolio will improve greatly if you remove the anatomy study and creatures.
Another study done today (I'm gonna start making daily ones) This one took 56 minutes, and was also done with reference. The faces still annoys me. And feet. I hate feet. Edit: Environment study:
I absolutely love the brush style on these pieces. Is this a study of some kind or just your style? I really want to emulate this, I love it! Are there any studies for stuff like this or is it something I'll just figure out myself?
I have made some more color studying and finished off this piece! As lotet said above, I could work on lighting and coloring. References seen above and my studies below, what do you think? :*
A great study, not an animal that I see much study of despite being so well known. I hope this grabs the attention of other anatomy enthusiasts, and look forward to seeing how it influences your future design choices.
Day three! Master study of John Signer Sargent's "A Gust of Wind" I'm hoping to do some more concept work that I can show off here too soon, but these studies will be here for the next little while!
