The Polycount Google Hangout has been helping bunches. @ZacD: Took care of the back anatomy, though it's a bit rough still :/ Don't want to quite yet get super high res. Thank God, I think I'm starting to feel the workflow now.
He kinda reminds me of some celeberty hmm i wonder who, anyway i personally would do something about the upper lip, seems kinda non existent though i'm not an anatomy expert either so dont listen to me hehe.
Here's another series I'm working on. I take the works of French painter William Bourguereau and use them to to study anatomy. That guy had some serious skills. Maybe I'll learn some by studying his work, lol. Here's the first: Le Crepescule
Thanks for the feedback guys. Much appreciated :) Yeah this was a long time ago before I knew anything about anatomy. Thanks for the crits. In retrospect, I need to add more dynamism to my drawings cause right now they look like boring still shots.
Her back is a bit flat, I always look at a ribcage as egg-shaped, it helps model out the chest and back. inconsequential, but her nipples appear to be a bit too far forward. Truth be told, millions of women have anatomy like that, but its not considered ideal.
For the anatomy I used a Victoria Secret model named Adriana Lima. She had a very interesting body type...mainly because she had such long legs....I actually did go back a fix the arms though before I originally posted this...
Noted! Here's today's work in the basic material. I redid several muscle groups on the chest and arms with y'alls advice in mind. If something looks stamped on, it's because I don't understand the anatomy well enough yet (or haven't started to detail it in the case of the back and legs).
ditto - Color Theory. Color sets the mood, sells the story behind the object. Feature exaggeration(requaires solid observation skills / anatomy knowledge). When you know the rules of realism you also know how to break them. Composition. And above all, experience.
I would drop down to a lower subdivision and do a lot more work on your proportions and anatomy. Get more reference and really focus on getting your muscle flow 100% correct. Don't start doing the clothes until the nude version looks right.
I want to see this website that said lines are for losers, I have a feeling you misunderstood advice on focusing on shapes and forms. You kind of have a reputation for misunderstanding advice, like "study real life anatomy" turns into "only make meaty soldier fellows"
