Well it's a shame about the dominance war, but I saw it coming. However, great news about this new competition which I will definately be entering! Polygonal Warfare!! :)
I'd be willing to try it as I heard good things about it. Is there any video out there showing some skilled polygonal modeling being done in real time ?
Hayden ... yeah, isolate works at the mesh item level. If you select polygons you can then use the hide/hide unselected/unhide functionality to isolate them.
Try Surfaces>Reverse Direction. Its the last options in the menu. The reason reserve normal doesn't work is because that only works with polygon shapes, not surfaces/NURBS.
It's stylized for tf2, where sometimes proportions are exaggerated. The polygon reduction and the ambient occlusion really pull out how big they are though. In game, it looks pretty good.
Yeah I will change the specular texture and reduce the polygons on that tap. How do you get the water in that barrel if there was no tap? ;) Post later with some update.. Cheers!
Yep, if you base it on bounding box matching and polygon count then it should be possible to do a fully automated script (and have it generate keyframes automatically), would be cool!
