More Blockout, Material Considerations and Trimsheet Planning I have blocked out a lot of pieces and have began to consider about the materials that i will need as well as what i will need on my trimsheet. I have planned out some pieces of my trimsheet and blocked out some basic pieces. The red will be a strip of bricks,…
Yep. The thing is, with more complicated meshes you'll be making adjustments all the time, so it's not always practical to go from blockout to both high and low. Unless you start with the 'detailed' blockout/midpoly working mesh. Generally people use the more linear blockout > high > low workflow. Yep. Blocking things out…
I started very with a very "freestyle" approach which was quite a bad idea. Didn't gather enough reference and the concept was quite boring. I knew I wanted to make a town environment but that was pretty much it, so the first blockout was quite flat. After getting some feedback from others and getting a better idea of what…
I would recomend to aim for those models uv'ed/textured and game ready. Post screengrabs on forums, discord art groups and get as many eyes as you can to see your work and feedback it. There good free tutorials on Youtube from Tim Bergholz for beginners with whole process. Since you aim for making worlds, get a small…

Thanks for the positive feedback guys ^_^ I need to do a blockout! I just got too excited to jump into texturing, so I'll take a step back and do a blockout next, komaokc
Quick update, got a new blockout (not in UE4 yet) this is a more fleshed out blockout, with a new area for the throne thats a little more open etc, and includes the door at the back with balcony etc.
I've began a personal project for my portfolio, a diorama of a WWI italian trenches with a machine gun position. Will post here for feedback. Here my blockout shots: A very rough blockout, tell me what you think
