Keep going!, practice and practice more. Think about what you are doing, try to find out what is wrong and then try to find a way to solve it. You'll get better. Great sketchbook btw :D
well... that solves my problem and I feel completely stupid xD I thought it would show up looking like a normal map in the screen, so figured I was doing something wrong thanks!
aaaaaaaaaaa......... please help :( this is so frustrating one problem is not solved and another arises . so now iam getting this error unable to load scene from url if anyone know why this happened . please help
Sometimes you have to work with what you're given. Happens all the time in production. Try projection paint, works decent even if UVs are distorted. Won't solve all ills, but better than failure.
in the Convert to File Texture options, Maya 4.5 has an option called "background mode" if you set it to Extend Edge Color it should solve your problem... Though I don't remember if this option is in 4.
Good to know you've solved the issue, MetalMind. I'm locking this thread now to prevent more flamebait. Please feel free to start a new thread if you run into any more MD5mesh or renderbump issues.
yeah, i've solve it :) ...it's under the transform preferences-->click outside manipulator-->select tool and i was on simple transform... but my biggest problem seems that i don;t know how to express(explain) the problem.
I wasnt talking about not installing it, I meant - if a workstation works fine, there is no reason to switch to a new os or app release until threads like this one are solved and in the past! Just common sense :P
I have this problem too a lot. Only way I could get around it was to export the meshes as .obj, open a completely new scene, import the meshes back and bake again. Solves the problem for me
that's a good point ben i forgot that normalize step. i'll try it tommorow and let you guys know if it solves my problem. EDIT: WORKED! Normalize made the difference. Thx again Ben. -R
