You're going to want to define your sculpt further before adding on armour pieces, then you'll have a more accurate base to fit the armour to. Then I'd suggest planes and the shell modifier. Also, for next time, use to embed an image.
Very nice texturing on the blade. My only critique would be that straps on the handle would do with a little bit of geometry do define silhouette, right now they look too flat. Other than that, very nice job man.
Decent start! Arm anatomy needs more work. I don't believe that looks like a real human forearm. The pectorals aren't defined well. I'd recommend going back into the sculpt and nailing your muscle and bone landmarks.
ZacD: Thanks, yeah I'll definately do that. Is probably the reason it isnt even loading for Chimp as well, Snader: Thanks for the input. I might just have to go for centered alignment and be a bit more bossy about the ratio of the images.
Concentrate on defining those shapes using absoutely lowest geometry, you have so many edges that are simply doing nothing at the moment and that will as stated above just make all you changes and work slower and harder. Goodluck chap
Sweet progress dude! Keep going!. You are still missing the brightest points on the metal work. Getting the specular highlights painted in properly will help a lot in defining their material. Your on the right track though, just keep painting and studying!
particle distance is the distance between points in your mesh. So it's dependant of the size of your object. Maybe the guy on the tutorial made a bigger curtain, so it looks more defined Lower distance to gain more definition (and longer calculations).
kk, thanks! as I was saying that I'll check the wiki for any software that I am missing from the list. But thanks anyways. EDIT: I havent looked in to the illustrator section just yet, but I'll definately try them out.
op! Dragon knight showdown. I'm thinking about making the rest of the set for my helm I just finished. I like the second to last one. Yeah, big shapes defined by different colours and your good to go. :)
Oh God I'm getting AutoCAD 2004 flashbacks. This is a good thing, where can I find this menu in Maya? Is there a way to snap at angles as well? In CAD you could define angles or increments, like every 15 degrees.
