wonderful stuff dude! you bust your ass off and it shows. I always enjoy seeing your concepts. The warlock golem is super creative, can't wait to see it in game. The colors on Centaur are great too. Absolutely love the DP as well.
Giving away models for free reinforces the belief that some people have that artists and other creative types don't deserve to be paid a living wage. This is pretty bad. I doubt the upside of giving your model away is more important than the downside.
FWIW copyright is just a means to formalize the rights you automatically have to your creative works. It's a public record so people can't dispute who created the work - it makes litigation easier. Where in the eula or workshop agreement does it explicitly state that?
@Quack: Only one winning entry per tier. @RazorBladder: Working with a concept artist is fine, this will be considered as a team entry. Your environment can be inspired by pre-existing concept, but try to go for an original take on this concept and not a pure reproduction. Creativity is key :)
Well, got it done in time so hopefully it looks decent enough. Not too happy with it. But I am proud to get this done and add this to my portfolio. Textures are a mix of dDo with hand making the high poly for the bakes. Any creative critiques welcome.
Studios: DICE, Blender Foundation Tools: Blender 2.8 Games: BFV, CoD "Black Ops 4", Forza Horizon 4 These nominees, define an underlying conviction why I'd initially chose this medium too express myself creatively via technology.
Here is the ceiling taking some shape. Still not very happy with the look of this scene. I feel like ive seen too much refference at this point and its becoming a hodgepodge of styles and has no solidity =( Trying to be creative can be so tough! :poly105:
dude, nice! very creative. however, in games these days I feel like that puzzle would be seen as 'too advanced', and either scaled down, or hand-held the entire way with what to do displayed on the screen, haha. Either way, I enjoyed it.
that's sort of my point... i know the prodigy aren't the first/only group to do this, but the creative vision involved in taking something everyone has head and knows, and turning it into something essentially new and unknown, AND making it fit with the rest of the track, is just awesome.
Thanks so much for this thread! I know creative assembly and adult swim/cartoon network do summer internships but they haven't been posted yet. Here is Rare one that has been posted https://www.rare.co.uk/careers/rare-internships-2019
