Guys thanks. I learned a lot from this....I did manage to get my texture down decent enough without it being a tremendously blurry mess...but I had to go back in and repaint some pixels on stuff that got all distorted. Lesson learned here.
all wacom technology tablet PCs only have 256 levels of pressure, no tilt. Also the pen accuracy is off by a number of pixels, even more so if you are look at it from an angle, which is all the time cause you can't see through your hand.
Yea the screen is MacBooks biggest weakness, i just bought one and its sexy sexy little machine but the viewing angle on this lcd panel is poor and it has stuck pixel (cant smudge it cause of the glass cover either). Air is supposed to have far superior panels.
this is so awesome pixel! loved the diffuse text. try playing with the spec level to get to a skin like point but still push up the normal details a little. it seems like theres almost no spec for the normal to work with. keep it up cause I wanna see this finished!
it's probably just a result of illumination . You either have to make vertex normals up perpendicular to ground surface or try to use translucent shader/ backlighting . And BTW that darker halo around wheat sprouts is probably because alpha pixels are black without padding
And this is a perfect example of putting in detail before the forms are developed. Just kind of noodling along and this is what happened. This guy is freaking because after having solved the hand problem last night, he still has no hands! Anyhoo, moving some pixels around.
Id love to play this game. I am a huge fan of pixel art and I have had my fair share of prototypes. But this is super cool I really like the art style and just the all around concept. When can we play?
Yeh but in first person you see up close really .... anyway is no idea why those little pixellated borders may arise? I can still pass over a mild smooth I guess to fix but ..... what about the knotwork does it fit there?
Hey people, finished the mace so far. But now i make a high poly sword. I don't know how i could make the uv without wasting almost 512x256 pixel. Should i seperate parts of the blade? greetz Endzeit
Could use some high contrast noise overlayed with a very very small alpha, give each pixel a little uniqueness. Right now you only have a few shades of black in cloud like shapes, makes it look kinda hand painted.
