I think there is still hope for side scrollers...if there is still a sprinkle of creativity left in the game industry. I'd like to make one. Or a really cool mod-able fighter. Imagine designing your own fighter characters, and kickin your friends' asses.
You've been naughty all year what gives!? Just wait till you open the case and find out its a Blu-Ray DVD of Fame. Santa isn't slipping up, he's getting creative. Grats, hope you enjoy it!
Great work Shimmer, I like your hand painted faces a lot... you tend to always add a bit of creativity to them that says 'Shimmer.' Keep plugging away at your own original work please, I really enjoy it most.
Hell knows I wouldn't want to be an outsourcer, working on nameless art with no creative input. Screw that. China can have it. If you don't have a job as artist in the US, its either cause you suck, or you aren't trying hard enough.
cheap man, its called quake remix. if someone made a remix of a song that was exactly the same as the original.. well it wouldnt BE a remix. It seems more like what quake 4 is to quake 2, not an exact copy. give em some creative license
Only problem with drawing as a modeller is when you have to work with a concept artist less creative and skilled than you :P. Agreed with drawing making you a much stronger modeller. Its also more fun modelling your own concepts ;) .
Yah, would have been nice to see the technology demonstrated in a more creative way. At the same time, I can see why they took the "I can't believe it's not butter!" approach to promoting it. [ame] http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dMwhZryRUr4[/ame]
I do like the strogg with the exposed brain and the vents/wings/antenna? coming off his back. I hope that's supposed to be a communications officer or something. I suppose near-future-human requirements might have stiffled the creativity on the humans a bit.
1. Start dating a certain person who goes to my school 2. Be more honest and helpful to people 2. Make more pieces for the ol' portfolio and get it online 3. Make a fun, creative game prototype in game development class
If its features you want to work in, yes, better learn to love Maya. I find Max much buggier personally. It's a better modeller but with practice you will get used to maya. And yes, the creative industry isnt know for its job stability.
