So open fl and xna is the current. Lol I didn't know that it was that old. I'll check em out too. These two ( game maker and xna ) looked appealing to me because Devs who made Terraria and Risk of rain are using it for their indie game projects. It will also motivate one to practice some coding. Sorry for the old news.
@balron, really digging your piece. and yep nice polycount straps haha small suggestion - if it's not too late you might try arcing either the horizontal strap and/or the top edge of the visor. you have a lot of wonderfully dynamic lines in the character, and those two horizontals sorta break your flow and just feel more…
if you want "real" real estate, better go with dual 21 inchers. compared to them even a 24 incher feels tiny and crammed full of palettes yet they don't make you turn your head constantly. more versatile to have two independent screens, too. not necessarily more expensive either. my 2 cents.
You might want to read this, as it talks about modular design and kind of puts it in context of using it in game editor. At any rate I kind of modeled large scenes with a lot of what was mentioned in an instinctive kind of way but this put a lot of doubts to rest and helped me get it. Hope it helps you too.…
From what I remember, the first (and maybe second) comps were just fun - a made up rivalry between two popular forums. But - the bigger it gets, the wider it spreads and people stop caring. There's less of a feeling of community and 'competitors' just appear out of the mist - never to be seen again. It's become way too…
And the apparent server it taking almost two minutes to load a single image...ideally should be less than a quarter of that/ You should also resize them too I also get you like environment design but ideally a lot of them don't seems to bore much design behind as they seem quite generic. It has some potential though.
My guess is though with taking a UV snapshot, you'll get edges, but not where two objects / elements or edges might intersect in the geo. I've been looking for something like this too and would love a way to do this in 3ds Max. IE get nice lines where objets or elements intersect in to the geo to better make those…
Oh yeah, I did that too during the Christmas break and thought the same. Also I played, and actually finished, Enslaved. Thought both those games were really good. Which is very rare for me, to like a game so much that I actually finish it. Just no time these days. But those two were well worth it.
cool stuff man u have texture flats? o also dunno how this fella is gonna animate but could probably use one or two more loops on the torso, one through the ribs and one through the upper abdominal area would be good for twist and stretch :) looks nice tho great revision on the hands! ftw -Woog
I had a soft spot for the Aliens Vs Predator arcade, the sheer number of drones to thwock was a sight to behold. Punching the Queen in her ovipositor was cool, too. Anyone remember the name of this: you could toggle between two characters: a tiny dude with a flail riding a tiger or a tiny dude on the shoulder of a giant.…
