Here's a shot with the bones more ashy/gray: http://www.planetquake.com/polycount/cottages/souldesigns/sam_04.jpg Skeleton only:http://www.planetquake.com/polycount/cottages/souldesigns/sam_05.jpg I see what you mean about the contrast. It defenitely does help to make the skeleton more visible. But the brown toned one has…
Your video is interlaced, which is really distracting for web video. Make sure the fields are off, or when you render, make sure render to fields is off. You can probably deinterlace it after the fact, it's been a while since I messed with video so someone else can probably explain how to do it in the video editing app…
Hi, I think I'm battling a combination of a few factors. Polycount - when I switch off foliage (each grass model is only 2 faces but there's lots of them!) I get an FPS increase so I think I better do some LOD models! Any one know a quick way of doing this? Shader complexity - I think double sided faces are slowing me…
@ Belias: I've shown that thread to at least 10 non-artists who do not visit polycount and they all think it is hilarious. Even they follow that thread religiously and demand I keep them updated on developments. I remember finding out that you were 3Dguru, and somehow I wasn't surprised. Your art is the same. I remember…
I'm blown away by the bone count they have for each model. The investment in making it happen really pays off, though. A lot of the animations are great and make use of all the extra bones to really bring the movements to life. I think it's the bone count that limits them as to how much can be displayed on screen... not so…
I too am not in the "industry" and my artisrtic side is limited to the dabbling I do in spare time.. IRL (In Real Life) I am a Sergeant in the NYPD in Brooklyn NY. Currently my role at the precinct is the Supervisor of the GLA (Grand Larceny Auto) team. I basically deal with stolen cars, chop shops, investigating the…
Hello PFlare, I saw your polycount ad and I was interested in participating, I wanted to enter the gaming market but I don't have a portfolio so participating in the creation of your project is an opportunity, here is a little of my portfolio: https://www.artstation/ .com/brunocaldas
This is intended to be game-ready and I tried my best to be careful with the polycount. I modelled this in Maya and sculpted the small details in Zbrush. Baking and texturing were done in Substance Painter. Stickers/Decals/Alphas for textures were made in Photoshop. I aimed to create a prop that tells a story of the urban…
This is more of a Tech Talk thing, but given that it's Greentooth I figured I'd thrown it in here instead! I made a greentooth generator for Blender, as well as a polycounter that turns red if you go over a set number of triangles, and looks angry if there are any ngons. https://www.youtube.com/shorts/kwwY0Pi4nTU…
You can send your CV through private message on polycount, or on linkedin and I'll take a look at it! Its great youre looking for feedback and I'm always happy to help in anyway I can!
