Looking really good so far. Bake seems crisp and clean. You can definately push the texture further, but as you said its a WIP so you'll do that anyway. Can you share your reference pictures?
If you have some time I will recommend you to take a look at a CSS framework such as blueprint css I use it myself and I am sure it will save you lots of time defining default styles such as image borders.
Like Fingus, most of my overlayed normal maps are tiny noise details that don't really define any large shapes. I just set it to overlay with the Blue channel off, then merge them and normalize with the xNormal plugin.
I hadn't thought of its exact function. I decided it will be a gas mask with a power source in the back. Thanks for the comment keeping functionality in mind will help me define it from here. I will post an update over the weekend!
Hey Brian, BARDLER pretty much nailed everything I'd have to say, but I'd say that you should definately look into creating your own skydome for that water church scene if it's meant to be the main focus of that first picture.
Yeah I like this challenge, environment artists can team up, or make a robot or some sort of non-human driver pretty easily, although it favors character and creature artists a bit, that doesn't define the contest or limits.
Amazing model! The one thing that catches my eye are the central creases on the face (nose and lips in particular)... from a distance it reads as a mip mapping error or something to me. I love how clean and defined everything is.
@purplekami Thnx man! Definately gonna add a lot of decals and stickers etc. Here is the final low of the chair, whithout the seat-belt because that has to be rigged first. Baked with marmoset 3 which works like a charm.
Very good, the rendering and colors are awesome! I would add a bit of light coming from his back to define better the sillouete. Not the light itself, but the speculars (damn, my english sucks lol). Loved the tiger fur!
Checked out the free tutorial and it looks really good, considering your great pricing I will most definately purchase a copy in a few weeks time when I have some free time to learn Cascade better.
