Hello everyone. I've been planning this for a few years. Life got in the way and I didn't get too far with it, but I picked it up again as a personal project to get out of the creative rut I've been in. That said, I know the warehouse scene is kind of a clich
Mainly family, my mum especially, she seems to not grasp the concept that the creative industries rely less on degrees and more on portfolios. Although my older sister is much more understanding, as she herself is a 2D artist.
Another update. i have been struggling to find enough reference imagery for certain parts of the car so instead of making a carbon copy of the original i am going to be a little creative with some areas of the car.
Look up the modeling and texturing methods of the creative director in charge. He's been developping clever shortcuts and scalable art creation techniques for years now, and without a doubt this had a big influence on what was achievable by the team.
FYI, 343i didn't do any "creative" work on Anniversary, they were responsible for updating the visuals in the singleplayer campaign. That's very different to building the next game in the franchise from the ground up. The multiplayer component was by Certain Affinity.
It has been a long time since I posted anything, I joined in on the polycount contest, but other than that I have not been giving personal stuff a lot of time. Riot creative entry. A bust for practice.
I like what XYZ suggested. I think a good way to make it creative would be to do what BRINK did with the paint jobs on the weapons, but with your own design. Really nice looking model too.
I have High hopes for my Jester type character but I'm pretty sure your's will turn out better than mine, her lips could be black instead of red that's my amazingly creative feedback.
Well, i'll just put this article here. Forbes' look at the whole thing, interesting read: http://www.forbes.com/sites/insertcoin/2015/04/24/valves-paid-skyrim-mods-are-a-legal-ethical-and-creative-disaster/
If the rest of the vehicle is going to be as detailed as the wheels, this thing will be slick! Looking forward to seeing more :) I think with some creative low poly work you'll be able to maintain a good silhouette of the tires without bloating them.
