Wooowwww! That environmental lighting is so rocking it!! Tractor looks really fine, except I'm dubious about the amount of polys used to get that screen right. Why don't you just use a bump map for that? Even a good diffuse would cut down all those unnecessary lines.
The script doesn't do anything except wrap up a bunch of Maya's tools! So you can do all of this already, if you know the commands to call in which order. I will try it out though - there seems top be some nice stuff in there! I'm not a huge fan of the workflow of it though.
i think this topic should be about the tech and not the unethical portrayal of dead people . judging from the video it looks very realistic except for some sliding but that probably wasn't even noticeable from the audience point of view. i'm up for some yugiohish hologram cardgame battles! (but with cool creatures)
Thanks for stopping by. Are you certain the proportions are off? They match up pretty much 1:1 with the blueprint I am using. I suppose the blueprints could be wrong, but unlikely. Except for customizing the hard points to carry what I wanted e.g. fuel droptanks, its the same as the blueprint.
@biomag Thanks so much for the help! You are my hero :) I've started following the topology guides on the wiki, except I think I may have made a mistake. I started retopologising with the deformation edges. Should I have kept the base mesh completely to quads at this stage?
thanks maph- I did a quick paintover of where I would like to go with it later tonight. The original ninja had some blades on the shoulder so I amd thinking of mirroring that Idea except with some parrott feathers. Also, adding a sash and fixing the UV distortion on the pants.
Thanks for the feedback everyone! I've pretty much finished up the low poly and bakes, except for the hair alphas. @beta_channel Thank you sir, good suggestions! I've changed one of the arms and added wear to the boots. I also raised the waistline of the jacket shows shirt shows underneath.
Games can't handle every single possibility smoothly. They aren't reality simulators. That sort of endless complexity is, essentially, unshippable. You'd never get it tested within your current lifetime. I guess I take exception to the language of "failure". I accept this may be a language/culture thing.
Wow, this is truly amazing, just spent time reading this from the beginning and it's really enlightening on how you put it that this will help your portfolio from looking too much like a Junior portfolio. And already the quality is exceptional. Thanks for posting all your progress! Can't wait to see more!
Thanks for the comment. And ye there isn't to much I can do about it (except for choosing another image, posted this one, because I hadn't posted this one yet). Since we have to do it, one of the points they will grade, being able to composite a 3d model into a real life photograph.
