Loving those proportions @daphz. A bow probably wouldn't suit someone with such heavy armour, so I think a couple axes or short-swords would work well. A two-handed weapon such as a long-sword might look a bit too masculine. Keep up the great work folks!
The contest was awesome, just wish there was more warning when contests are going to start is all. Would mean more people ready to enter and public voting needs to be banned :) popularity contests suck donkey balls!!!! a solo comp running a month or two after would be nice too maybe
Tone and attitude are two different things... There are people in Polycount who sound a bit harsh but actually engage in constructive criticism and make efforts to help people out. There are some others that just bring negativity and ruin otherwise interesting discussions. Happy that the latter doesn't come up too often!
Yeah, Scott Spencer's book got me started, too. Got it about six weeks before I bought ZBrush itself, played with the 30 day demo for a bit, then spent two weeks in ZBrush Withdrawal until I actually got the check that let me get it. :P
I like the apes my friend. Nice design. Could probably work the seams a bit better. The game sounds neat but the scope is way too large for two people to ever finish. If I were you I'd aim to get a fun little multiplayer version out first.
Hahaha, the moment I stumbled on that site I was already thinking about picking up new book racks XD Too bad I can only pick up two for this christmas. My gf would probably kick my ass if I bought all of them :P
here goes: i like the fantasy cave overall but there's a few things letting it down - firstly your particles for the waterfall are all the same rotation and the repitition is very obvious - try giving them a random rotation and maybe more randomness in the alpha value too so there's some variation in the intensity. WORLD MACHINE TUTORIAL Anatomy of World Machine Nodes Heres a quick description of how a World Machine node works so that this tutorial can make sense. Basically a node is just a box you plug something into and get something new out of based on the calculations of the node you used. Some nodes have an option for providing…
It's looking great man. I only have a couple of minor critiques... First, in the pose you have him in, he looks a little off-balance. Maybe put him in more of a steady stance.. more of a hero pose? And if you want to make him look a little more imposing, maybe bring the camera down just a little further towards the ground?…
I think your biggest problem atm is that there is almost nothing blood elfish about him. When I'm looking at him, he seems like some cocky dude straight from Halloween party. His profession isn't very clear as well. Basically, you just took a blood elf, dressed him like he is some dwarf wannabe, and added pandaren flavour…
