https://imgur.com/5cNdJFB done. I didn't add in a lot of the details that appear in the photo reference because the details were mostly with the coloring of the image. I also didn't do the cloak because my focus was solely on the mask... not the hood that drapes over the head of the wearer...
Pretty cool so far. Although the glass is looking a little weird. Almost like the fresnel effect is reversed. Normally the reflections should be weaker on surfaces facing the camera straight on, and stronger on surfaces at an angle to the camera. But your windows seem to be doing the opposite. What software are you using…
about the same from me, get rid of some of the weaker pieces and arrange "best to worst", right now for instance the first two projects are pretty weak compared to others further down. overall the site is readable and simple which is good. good luck breaking in to the industry :)
Thanks Jelligeth. I hope the rest of her comes out as well as that area did. I also may be changing it to be more inline with the original design. Since raising the jacket and revealing more of the chest plate, I feel my design is rather weaker than that of the original.
This is looking really good. Don't be afraid to add a bit of definition to her thighs and waist. The tie on an obi, while thick and often rigid, will bring in the waist of the wearer and the clothing. Also remember to define muscles, especially the thigh muscles. It's coming along well though, and can't wait to see more…
One thing I've been finding, I'm using a laptop more and more these days, and you need a dedicated graphics chip (of course) but only the NVIDIA drivers seem to allow me to force applications to use the discrete GPU instead of the weaker integrated GPU. AMD doesn't seem to have that control.
It's true that within U3, your materials will appear weaker versus max. Adjusting levels is the quickest solution. There is also a way within u3 to punch it up, but I don't have the technical knowledge to explain this. Another option is your lighting within u3. If it's bad, your material will never look good.
Soul Reaver.. Construction... Sensible Soccer... DESCENT! lol the memories. Interesting how some games stand the test of time due to their art style; mostly hand painted or 2D adventure games such as Desperado's & Broken Sword etc compared to games that were created around the same time.
Im a fan- although I felt the series got weaker as it went along. there were some parts like the huuuuge list of wizard that seemed kind of out of place / not funny- I agree with RobG about the family guy stuff too- the music was one of my favorite parts.
@Angry Beaver I have been doing a lot of rough sketches and painting practices.I think 3d works faster and efficiently if u have more than one person on the team. @Deadly Nightshade Wow..that looks great but I am trying out pencil.Ita a free app and has great potential.
