Yes video tutorials are good but for example in this case I'm reading his problem as "I can't analyze topology from wireframes, I need a video tutorial to tell me how". And I think that at this point it's getting slightly too far. quote I am referring to "How i am suppose to learn - -"
Hi Stinger88 please I'm dying to know know that grass was made. Can someone elaborate? I want similar look for my game in outdoor levels cause grass is/will be crucial part of it.. Thank you for any help or pointers. I think it is all mesh (with LOD) but wireframe would tell me the most.
Have you baked from low to high here? Or have you used Ndo? Like Blaisoid says, it looks like you've sharpened it too much. Theres so much aliasing in some areas I cant make out certain parts. Wireframe, texture flats, HP? would be good to see.
Use Tool: Polygroup: AutoGroups to see if they are actually fused together, or if the ends are just mashed together. The only reason they should be fused if if they were imported with no caps and the merge button was on (this is off and buried by default), or if you used dynamesh at some point (but if that were the case…
Screenshot? What does the wireframe look like? Have you tried using a standard unwrapping workflow? For example, look about 1/3 down this page for "Example: To use Peel Mode" http://docs.autodesk.com/3DSMAX/15/ENU/3ds-Max-Help/files/GUID-EA10E59F-DE7F-497E-B399-6CF213A02C8D.htm
finally calling this "finished" now I got a wood stock made up for it. i'm sure there'll be some final sneak tweaks after this too. Got a lot of camos and furniture variants to show too! Should have those up tomorrow. Also gonna release the files eventually and get more wireframes
Your lighting looks very flat. Use a spec map, or if you currently use one, get some more contrast in there. ;-) Also your lightning is very dark especially in the first and third shot, with pitch black shadows, try to use some more lights. Can you upload some wireframe images?
Scene I'm working on, stil working out how im going to do the roof. Also wanna bring it into zbrush and try some carving on the basin and pillars, though I've never really used zbrush before. Feedback and advice much appreciated. update with wireframe and roof and another update this time with a bridge and torches
Defiantly have your own portfolio site. Cut down your work and only show your best stuff. Maybe take more screenshots (diff angles, close ups, etc.) Wireframe and texture maps is a must. And I can't seem to find your email address. I don't see a resum
I don't think it should be a massive problem. Is it noticeable when you're not looking at wireframes? When I create things in ZBrush from zspheres the topology can be atrocious at times, but what matters for me is the overall shape and details. As long as my low-poly was clean, it rarely would give me shading errors.
