Those are some pictures of the problem. Has anyone here ever seen anything like this before? It is a Hover Craft that I am trying to do texturing on. I encounter this issue during the baking process. Every other part of the model looks fine except for the Hover Craft's Handle (see images above)
Most of the parts here just look like extruded 2D shapes, I'd try rounding them out a bit. Also the wood grain texture being consistent between the desk and the drawer should never happen except if they were both punched out of a single flat sheet.
Modelling Quality looks good except the chains, They are too "cheap" when on the other side you show detailed rivets on other parts. From a artstyle perspective it looks like modeling without reference or a big picture in mind. Its a little to generic like am noname scifi tank.
Personal project - London 2040. Agents of the Hive operates almost exclusively in the virtual world, except for very specific assignments. --- I've recently picked up Daz Studio and Octane Render and loving the new workflow. Thanks to Shaddy for the tips and prodding me in the right direction. Octane WIPs.
I do my modeling in Maya then import into Unreal. :) I'm throwing in a bit of Blender now with the event of 2.8, but Maya is still the tool I'm most efficient with. Got a blockout update, much happier with the lighting now, except for the harsh shadow on the floor. But the signs in the back help a lot.
Love everything about this The explosion.. the dynamic composition.. pretty much everything except for the pose on his lower left leg. -The rotation of the chest should flow into the leg he's pushing off of. (Atm, The pelvis and left leg are dislocated) Looking forward to seeing more posts from you!
Found out another use for FWN, decimated meshes from Zbrush. Should make for more efficient bakes, (except for vertex color bakes because you can't decimate them...much). You could always use hard-edges, but you might see some faceting.
Fury 3 Intro(epic music for me at least) Fury 3 SlipStream 5000 Hi-Octane More soon but awesome thread. Had a joystick I forget which but was similar to this one except 3 buttons on top plus the trigger, only way to play these craft games. ;)
Wow, lots of the things they are showing in that video look really useful to me. Voxel Zspheres alone have my pretty excited, guess Sculptris will become kind of obsolete, except as a more minimalist sculpting app. As for retopo, seems pretty late to catch up with 3DCoat and Topogun by now.
According to this ( http://udn.epicgames.com/Three/TextureProperties.html#CompressionSettings ) you need to use something called "RGBE" format. Which seems to be this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RGBE_image_format, seems to be almost the same as RGBM except that the last byte acts as an exponent instead of a multiplier. No…
