AFAIK you can't edit the default Maya right-click marking menus without manually going in to the official MEL files and changing them in there. I don't know if the texture for the disc is intentional (the light bounce). My eyes tell me that the disc are bent upwards. Really circumstantial, as with any computer build. I have found myself using 32gb easily when editing large skybox panorama images in photoshop, and as little as like 6-8gb when just doing regular 3D work. I bet I could fill up 64gb of RAM if I was being lazy and just kept all my apps open all the time, while editing some… -

That you are correct. You can loft, etc, directly into a mesh. My extent with NURBs doesn't cover much of what is capable I'm sure. Other then using it as a nice save data for edits later on, and fast clean edits for base meshing, I don't delve much farther. Might be interesting to start a google hangout / research day to… -

Body is looking great, but I'd say his eyes and nose can use some work. Doesn't match the concept very well. edit also, his face is a different shape of the one you made. Look closely and you'll see it through his beard, his chin is not as wide and his jaw is placed upwards a bit, imo edit 2 also, from the front his neck… -

This is something that I have banging my head against a wall about for the past year or so. Nvidia Fermi cards are pretty slow in all programs that have an OpenGL viewport and to make things worse, VBOs are not supported in Edit mode currently. There really isn't much you can do aside from using fewer iterations of subsurf…
