Cool! Looking forward to seeing the scene, I'll definitely have an eye on this ;) Good luck with the scene Oh, one more thing: it seems that you forgot to correct the smoothing groups in your scene with the book.. (the lower stone wall). I don't know if that's intentional, but I`d change that and use a proper normal map…
If you set up a scene how you like and save it to the 3dsmax scenes folder as "maxstart.max" it will load that scene every time you launch max or "reset". That won't force your settings on another persons file, you would probably have to script that yourself... but that should keep their settings from sneaking into your…
Hey Everyone! Here is the latest screenshot of my Comicbook Shop, I recently made some adjustments to how the fog is handled in my scene as well as added some new assets to the scene! Below is the link to my Thread on the Progress of the scene! Thread: https://polycount.com/discussion/209131/ue4-1980s-comic-book-shop#latest
Do you have a blockout or similar going on? Something you could show? I'm still having a hard time planning a whole scene even with concepts, doing props and such is no problem.. but it won't work as a scene if there's no planning ahead, right? For me it's still incredibly difficult to look at grey boxes and think about…
[ QUOTE ] Show me a real scene using it not one prop. [/ QUOTE ] My thoughts exactly. Last gen Nvidia (6800+) cards can do this already, but it's just too expensive for a real scene. I remember Nvidia showing similar examples of it - small prop in a closed environment. I'd like to see this in a real scene.
OK I am a little late in posting this project as it has already been set a week or so, and will probably have to 'submit' it before I get any feedback, but I figured I would share it anyway as I can always go back to it. Brief: To create a scene within limits based on the theme 'They Landed'. Texture limit is 1 x 2048x2048…
Thanks everybody! I will do my best to answer questions. Thanks guys. The biggest thing I learned is how to put together a scene from start to finish. Finding out what is important in the scene, doing a good composition around the focal point, working on lighting early on, and knowing where to spend my time are all…
I think this is a step in a better direction, The back left wall is a definite improvement, the toned down lights is a good thing, and your train is definitely more of a focal point. A few things: I think you should move the camera back to where it was previously. I think it did a better job of showing the train off, and…
Firstly, where is the light coming from? As the walls don't seem to be casting shadows it leads me to believe that the meshes are open at the back and need 'Two-Sided-Lighting' turned on in the Mesh Properties. Rather than get any further bogged down with the technical issues like light map seams and normals looking odd,…
Don't get in the habit of feeling like you MUST work off of ortho references. It's like saying you can't draw without tracing. You're not going to be given ortho reference to work off of every single time and many times you just simply are not going to be able to find it. You should get comfortable working from just…
