Oh yeah, I just remembered (because I just noticed it on some assets), the only issue I have with fbx2010 is that I get extra UV channels that are just copies of UV0 if I don't deleted my textures group before exporting. Don't know what that's about. I'm still on 7, fwiw.
I love it! I really wish the 7 remake was more along these lines. I've been replaying 9 since it came out on the switch and just left this area. Lindblum is a city with so much character, you've done a great job of bringing it into modern times. How did you approach creating the stone stairs?
For me, models with normal maps always exhibit these very dark edges when I use standard lighting inside Maya, too. I like to add a directional and a slight ambient light for preview purposes and to get rid of completely black spots. Try adding some and hit '7' to switch from standard to scene lighting.
Thanks guys. I appreciate your help. Yes, I have windows 7 64bit OS. I can't see the conserve memory box :( Here is the message that comes up: Here is the weird shading errors on high: Maybe it's just the shader. I'll try one of those shaders then, Xoliul. Thank you again.
AMD FX 6 core 3.5GHz 16gb RAM AMD 7970 4gb Win 7 1tb internal disc 250gb internal ssd / keep my working files on here 6tb external storage Tried increasing virt ram but still getting same error. Only had photoshop and the suite open too.
As long as you aren't hitting 7-8 gigs of ram usage frequently, I wouldn't worry about upgrading ram. You could easily get a GTX 970 got £300. If you really want an i7 you could probably find one somewhere, but socket LGA1156 has been phased out.
i run Max 2009 on vista ultimate 64 bits perfectly, i only miss to have the maxtreme drivers i had for Max 2008. Those people calling Vista like a transition... like windows me, don't know about Windows 7 LOL. I don't change Vista for XP, harr
[ QUOTE ] I still haven't been able to replicate the same level of accuracy with Max 8's settings that I can with one click of UVhelp. Besides which, it's free and works in max 7,6,5. [/ QUOTE ] Yup. I still model in Max 6 because I hate hate hate the snap tool in 7 and 8.
I used to work at Muckyfoot.. Its sad that Bc has been cancelled but I know from present experience when a game has been dragging out development for more than 4 years there are problems.. Hopefully everyone can retain there jobs, seems to be allot of companies sliding towards 'chapter 7' in the uk at the moment.
well, now there are some handy brushes in there. What's the least version of PH you can run them on? I tried them out on 7 and they wouldn't load. I jumped back to CS2 and they load fine. I'll clean up a few of my brush sets and post them later when I get a chance... heh
