Small post today, been doing some test for a potential project at work, quickly reproduced a ring from the Coco Crush Chanel collection. Basemesh done in Maya, added the "cross" patterns in Zbrush, baked with xnormal and rendered in real time in unity3D with the default post processing effect. Final model is about 10k…
Thanks guys :) Didn't expect this much feedback so quickly. I see that all the activations are already used. Here's another coupon code for those who missed the freebies. I've set it for a week at 50% discount. Enjoy. https://www.udemy.com/generate-a-3d-model-from-photos-using-agisoft-photoscan/?couponCode=POLYCOUNT3
I was asked about the hair: Sculpted the base with the CurveTube brush to have something to snap my strokes to and then the individual strands with the 'Size' curve modifier ontop of it. Also, used 'snapshot' to generate multiple similar curves quickly. I deleted the base after I was done or scaled it down to have it blend…
You're going to probably want Photoshop at a base level for texturing. Quixel Suite is good for getting base maps done quickly. Substance Painter is good for more painterly texturing, but does not really "paint" that well (brush pressure size gradient is lacking) 3D-coat is awesome for retopo, UV mapping, and painterly…
I love teaching. If I could I'd love to be a tenured teacher. That said Montreal is a pretty big hub, so hopefully my current career still has a lot to offer in terms of stability. That is VERY important to me. Vancouver used to be a pretty significant hub, so I understand how quickly that can turn.
I actually hate it, since it pops up when you want to use the program and gets in the way when you just want to quickly get something done. As far as updates the best i seen, is on linux systems, where it is the OS's job to check for updated pacakges for all installed software, and just do it in the background.
Chances are, they skipped over your application pretty damn quickly when they saw that. If you wish to resubmit, make sure it's an entirely new cover letter, completely re-written, focuses on that particular studio. Don't just swap out the wrong name. Make it look like it's their studio you want to be at. not some shotgun…
@PenGuin1362: Damn! I thought no one would notice the proportional mismatches. I really honour it. I will try to fix but honestly if I can't fix it quickly I will just leave it. As this is my second model I was a little too careless with the blockout and I had those issues right from the start. Lesson learned ;)
When I need random sci-fi machinery, I have been known to go into the garage and start stacking power tools on each other. Car engine parts, photos of the insides of old power plants, and similar stuff can get you some very cool shapes and volumes to iterate on, very quickly.
Yeap im getting it too here. I tested first with switching layer visiblity on and off a ton of time, and that didnt cause any artefacts, but when i do the same with switching only the Record mode on and off, artefacts start appearing quite quickly! Tried it in ZB 4r6 and 4R7-64bit, same result in both
