@david-best Thanks! this challenges are a lot of fun and a great way to try new things, this is my first ever stylized hand-painted scene and I'm having a lot of fun working on it. Very busy week but hopefully I can finish the scene this weekend. Here is an update on the hand-painted ground texture for the scene.
I agree with @Ace-Angel, it definitely adds to the composition of the scene, however it does not seem to alter geometry along the wall panels on the bottom therefore suggesting it is only exaggerated in the scene by the lighting but it does not greatly introduce any real change into the lighting on that part of the scene…
Configure it how you like, save the scene as "maxstart.max" into your 3dsmax scenes folder and it will load every time you launch max or if you reset. I like to toss a 6ft tall measuring stick into my default scene just so I have some sort of scale ref to go off of.
Fender so Far: Texture help from substance to marmoset I understand there's a bloom effect in substance to make the red On lights look like they're on, but even the bloom effect in marmoset just blooms the entire scene. Anyone know how to get a glowing emmission effect in marmoset? The substance scene: the marmoset scene
Hammering out more models for the scene, and started on one variation of the wall (this one will only appear once, but smaller variations will be coming). I also got the floor texture in there. Once I flesh out the scene with all the models + texturing the models, I'll start working on Decals that will help break the scene…
Coming along nicely! Not about the project, but the presentation: Your HDRI/angle of choice seems pretty evenly lit for many renders, washing out the normals. The wardrobe seems to remedy that, though. That being said, a more pastel look could work well, too. The table reminds me a bit of the Brambly Hedge TV show in that…
thanks for you crititques.I appreciate that .i aggree with you that the scene is clean a little especially the texture in the houses But in term of alignment.I intentionaly did that based on some references (see them on my arstation project page) maybe i have pushed that too much.In order to lead the eye forward since this…
I agree with this. The scene that stuck out most is the sci-fi scene. The entire scene is way too noisy. I'd suggest looking at some popular sci-fi games/movies and studying what makes their corridors so interesting. You'll notice that they have a lot of detail; however, it isn't all over the place.
a couple of things you could try before a reinstall... run an optimise scene, on the scene the keeps crashing delete all your prefs and settings folders (should be in your My Documents) reset to defaults settings on everything I had this same problem before with a scene and it was my maya prefs folder that caused the…
Hey, this is great work as everyone pointed out. Saved to inspiration folder. That fall scene is really really awesome man. My only crit is to possibly pull the fog back a little on the first two scenes. A really minor point, but it would make those scenes perfect in my eyes if they were a tad clearer.
