@Cathodeus Okay, thank you. That's more the answer I was looking for. That just wasn't what I gathered from your first answer. If most studios just use to core tools, then that's what I will mainly stick with. I mean, that's what I have been sticking with for years. I just wanted to know if it was true that most studios…
RizomUV looks promising, but the lack of documentation makes it really hard to get started with (unless you are just looking for some simple organic unfolding). I don't understand, why someone comes up with a really cool tool and then doesn't provide proper training material - this guy would sell twice as many licenses
I don't regret mine though wish I could have done the stuff I was doing in my spare time at school haha (in all fairness they did give me the tools and basics to go on) The things I got out of it were being with a group of cool friends to hang out with and pushing yourself.
Thanks a lot stoofoo for pointing me in the right direction, I didn't even know about the pinch tool. I have done some more work on the wing muscles, hind legs, neck and back. I started shaping the ribs and tail. You guys rock for helping the rest of us untalented fools.
I recommend FaceFX. I've done a fair amount of work with it and it's a great tool. It's very open, very extensible, and works great with max or maya. Also the oc3 guys are really cool to work with and are always on the ball with tech support and updates. Shoot an email to: doug@oc3ent.com and he should be able to take care…
Wow that's a lot more in depth and advanced then I originally saw. I'm a bit more optimistic about it and look forward to checking it out. But, I have to say the way they create and manipulate lights is kind of messed up. I'm not sure if it can do 100% self illum? But the bump painting tools are pretty cool.
I'm running into a lot of limitations because of my old pc. Mudbox crashes on me half the time I use the face or object tool, and on top of that I have to bake the normal in pieces because of low memory. Cool. I have to redo the suit sculpt because the one I have is corrupted or something.
Not sure what you mean about insert edge loop tool not making straight lines, can you post a screenshot? Have you tried deleting the history on your model before you use the edge loop split? There are 3 ways to split edges on a 90" angle besides the edge loop tool. 1. Use the split polygon tool and turn on the snapping in…
I just want to get opinions in general about the demo. Was it what everyone expected, let them down, cant wait to buy it the day it comes out??? I just played it and thought it was pretty cool. The demo seems like a tool to just go around destroying everything and showing how bad ass you can be in the game.. I will end up…
Since I'm having problems with NSUV Editor that I doubt will ever get resolved. I wanted to know if there is a tool for Maya which can do as seen in this video; https://vimeo.com/159915144. To summerize it straightens UV Edges; I haven't touched the project in a while due to an illustration Job I took on, but I recall not…
