hmm so you mean that we dont use the sliders at all? I mean sliders are there and they help in changing settings quickly too. Aye different materials = more draw calls that is why I got myself into thinking effective way of making texture sheets now vs old school method. -

This is the high poly currently. I'll update the post with a couple of the refs I used (the ones I can find quickly since I am at work) and with current low poly progress. I do plan on texturing it, which should be interesting. Is something I've found to be tricky for me, so it will definitely help with that. -

Yeah. The theory on baking normals with hard surface can be a little complicated, but watching/reading enough tutorials can quickly simplify it. Many times I actually have to constantly experiment on the way my normals bake to prevent as many issues as possible as well as make the corners have little to no visible seam. -

The symmetry modifier does not support using anything other than a plane for symmetry. You can quickly break the angled pieces into 3 pieces - two straights and the angled bit, and symmetry the straights - I think you'd have to manually build the angled bit out but given your geometry that should be simple. -

I wouldn't sculpt a high-level of detail onto a model if I wasn't going to transfer the detail to a normal map, but there have been times where a very quick pass (low-med) with zbrush has helped me be able to quickly put landmarks onto the diffuse without having to battle the UVs. -

I read the box set. The author's writing style was interesting and took a bit to get into it, but then it quickly became a formula, that required you to buy the next one, because he hops around with out really telling you much... ..Personally, in this case, I find the show far more entertaining without the filler. -

Yea from what I've seen designers tend to do a quick sketch of the general idea of the map from top down and then build it in engine. (This is for multiplayer games) At the end of the day, the goal seems to be to get a playable version in engine as quickly as possible so the team can playtest the map, give feedback, and… -

you worked quickly on that :D it looks really good so far. one thing that looks weird to me is that there is a lot of rust above the bumper area but there is not much wear on the actual bumper. The caps on the wheels look a little too shiny and clean in my opinion, it makes them stand out quite a lot.
