More progress - slow and steady :) The stands on the side of the throne are suppose to resemble Cobras, I didn't want exact cobras just going for the general feel - I figure this guys likes snakes ;) Plus I added some more bottles and a crown - more stolen items
Racer445: Yeah, this one really is the must-read item for game artists. If they don't staple it to the foreheads of freshmen at game art schools, they're doing something wrong. TrevorJ: If the author feels like extending his writing with some shader-related stuff that would be awesome :P
my crit is that your edges are way too tight and read noisy in distance, and if you pan to normal map it it will read even worse, it usually happens when we work zoomed in those edges and forget to check the item at far :D Looking good man :D
looking good. is the camera fixed? if it is, you could do a lot of the items as camera facing billboard sprites and save yourself a lot of triangles. Also you could strip the faces away from things that don't see the camera, like the underside of the lip on the chest etc etc
I'm not too big on episodic content either. It strikes me as the master plan to make big bucks by adding negligible stories and items to an existing game, instead of hammering out a solid expansion pack. Then again, I have yet to see exactly how it plays out.
I didnt try that I will try but did anyone try the files I uploaded? And flipping the green vertically or horizontally? Alsosince I am making a normal map out of a on the item directly painted texture I cant flip couse it would just switch the baking no?
I have one, and it sucks. The wheel gets shot, the mouse sensitivity can't be perfectly adjusted with the tools (and it goes completely awry when a game crashes), and the size is a bit too small. Not a very comfortable mouse for a hyped-to-death $50 item. IT ALSO COMES DENTED!!! WTF
This is Psy armor - final one in 4 armors we built for Imperatum project. Interesting thing when creating 4 items in the set is each of them has to be unique but still display one theme color required. More hires & 3D viewer at: https://www.artstation.com/artwork/yblq1O
I do try to restrain myself to a limited palette for individual items, but I worry that the palettes get washed out by overall environmental lighting. I guess I need to manage that saturation...! Thank you for the advice, folks. Time to hit the books again, I guess...! =D
Hey, it's an MSI GTX 4GB 980, I'm not sure exactly what model is as I didn't buy it (I pulled it from our demo machine after GDC). It's probably this one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127834&cm_re=msi_980_gtx-_-14-127-834-_-Product
