Alright guys getting ready to give closure to this piece, it took way too long but learned a lot during the process! got two versions which one do you think works best?
Both MM and Solar solutions looks interesting. I tried using fibermesh before, then exporting as curves to max. If things got too separated i could duplicate one or two splines by hand.
@TheIceWolves Thank you for the feedback! Do you tink the whole model is too monochromatic or just two hues of the feathers? I won't do any fancy animation, but I'll tweak it for sure :p
would it be too complicated to make a 2 material blend with these? would be nice for ground break up using things like height maps and threshold controls to blend between two of these physically based materials :)
That's not going to tile too well. Make it tileable. Hit and learn about two birds with one project. Continue adding more color and elements into the flat surface areas, like in the Art Panda tutorial.
You were right BaseEngine.ini shadowdepthbias = .033 seems ok... .333 made the shadows too far from the base of objects... so i'll tweak it between these two values... thanks for your help!
When you place object on a picture side by side like that i can't help but think there's 4 clickable pictures, not two. Especially on a grey background. Not too hard to navigate and it's pretty responsive, so there's that.
Watched the original last night - had to after this thread. For the record, they have shitloads of guns in the original too. What does an antarctic research post need with ~10 rifles and two military grade flamethrowers?
Added crazy earrings, a hairband and netted hand gloves. She was supposed to have a shirt too but I screwed up ;) But man putting hairbands on this head with two ears on top like that is very hard.
well I wouldn't mind going to Irvine the week or two after (and yeah, Spectrum is pretty awesome) but Friday shouldn't be too bad I guess to come from OC to LA over the freeway.
