Bryan Cavett, and some other guys asked me how I made a UI of RTTAssist. So I decided to make this short tutorial. :) First I want to say that the author of the UI is Sergey Punchev(http://getmyui.com/). Seccond - sorry for my bad english. :) As shown in image below, almost all maxscript controls(buttons, spinners, text…
Well I am liking how the website is. Simple to the point shoving the artwork in my face on the first page. So some feedback. You are seem to be super focused on the hand painted style, that is cool as lots of games use this but I'd not have it as the "title" hand painted 3d environments and props. I'd get rid of the hand…
Wow thanks everyone for your comments and suggestions! battlecow, that's actually a very nice idea! I'll add my name to images. Some time ago I found myself in situation when I had a bunch of images and had no idea who's an author AlbinLundahl, you're right, I'll change the first page so it'd look more.. 'welcoming' I…
I would make the thumbnails all the same size, or only use one enlarged feature shot above the thumbnails. Also the differing number of thumbnails shows inconsistancy. Show a wireframe, a shaded, texture, and a render for each shot, and you would have 4 focused images showing the skillset in those areas for each scene.…
Cholden's reference image is a good one. I'd also suggest looking at some references of feathers and the way they Wings are one of the most brutalised structures in all of art. Almost nobody knows how to do them right. General things to know about wings: - The bone structure is similar to that of an arm (as cholden said) -…
The first problem I see is that your reference images could be better. If you're new to modeling heads then I highly recommend modeling from a professional concept or from photos. Having nice orthographic images are great, but you'll rarely find side views that match perfectly with the front view so don't be too surprised…
Heh, i guess not. I guess the lack of sleep is getting to me. Looks good. I probably didn't click on them because the thumbsnail were pretty big, but it's probably a lack of sleep thing. I would fix the header image of your page though. Integrate the character image more, since right now the header is eating a bit of real…
Have to agree with Brad, video is a bad idea for a modeler, only really animators should use them or if they specifically ask you for a demo reel. No-one will download a video when they've got dozens of folios to look through, get some high res images with your texture sheets, a beauty shot some construction shots with…
edit: works now, but still takes ages to load compared to most sites (1-2 min waiting on a blank page) And when it does load, each page didnt instantly load up (after I clicked "work", I had to wait another minute for it to actually show anything) And then I clicked on one of the images and it just gives me a little black…
A Direct Draw Surface or .DDS is a texture that is highly optimized to work with Direct X. Most modern game engines use this file format as again it is made to work with Direct X. DXT1, DXT5, 3Dc etc are the different formats that are used based off of what you need that texture to do. For example a DXT1 is a diffuse or…
