Stuff looks great. Everybody else mentioned whatever crits I had, except...why present on grey like that? A simple adjustment of contrast and you've got a whole lot more depth I think. I'd love to see some colors.
1 word - Awesome!!!! as intense as CoD2, except it looks 10x better. Is missing the ability to lean. Once you get to a certain rank, you can make your own class, choose what weapons etc. I'm very much enjoying it.
Glow in a render? Always do it in post. You can try to get fancy, or just render a separate pass where everything is assigned a black surface shader except your glowy bits which are assigned white. Then use that a mask in aftereffects/photoshop.
why not have a pre-mini-domwar challenge? kinda like what we did for unearthly challenge, except on a much smaller scale? we could get creative juices flowing over the next 26 days to help aim for a polycount win?
this is a 4 year old 3D concept that i somehow like its mood. no plugin and only 1 texture was used. most time was spent to make the shader on the ground than anything else... this is only rendered. not photoshop was used except perhaps cropping.
Yea I wanted to show some wireframes of the models but I had to reinstall my drives and lost everything, except the newest work of the stargate fan art. So yea I will go and atleast have the renders there with a gray background. Thanks for the advice.
I work at the maximum res. Usually at 1024, sometimes a little bigger (2000x2000). Scaling down is all good because even if some details disappear, the impression of that detail is still conveyed well enough, except in extreme cases, ie 1024 > 128
Nice one Bobo. What is the polycount and how big are the texture maps? I am also working on a orc except mines a hybrid from a orc and a tauren: http://boards.polycount.net/showflat.php?Cat=0&Number=253463&an=0&page=2#Post253463
Holy shit, apparently everyone has a wide screen monitor except for me. I'm still using a single CRT at home, Striff even has a wide screen painting hanging on his wall, how do you guys afford this razamataz?
Vray GPU; "Vray" setting (I assume this means to just use CPU for rendering); Literally nothing is changed except the render method, both are Vray. I've been tweaking around with different settings, trying to fix this for over a week. This does seem to be exclusive to Maya/Vray2023 though, as it does not happen in Maya 2022
