I assume marble is just like stone, but with a much brighter spec - right now I can hardly tell your spec map is doing much, except for a few edge highlights I see. Maybe post your flats?
Yes, the majority of us are well aware FOX News is ridiculous. I don't think anyone here takes it seriously except the old and dying republicans of yesteryear. Sadly, as JacqueChoi pointed out, our comedians often do a better job.
Peris: opinions are divided on that, I can tell you. I'm not sure where I stand on the issue, except that I do hate the shit out of unwrapping lightmaps, so when given the option I will choose 'fuck doing it by hand'.
Guess i didnt post the other side huh? :o need some work, lots of sharp edges from 2007 (lol i actually checked and i did that M4 in 2007, everything except for the body is new now though)
Guys, check this out! --> Go to "http://www.snaketakes.ca/index.php/corp/jobs#environment_modeller" --> Read the Bioware Montreal job descriptions : https://jobs.ea.com/search/view.do?id=a0z50000000zxmg It's EXACTLY the same text! (except for "What skills does BioWare look for? ")
Texture layouts are pretty ordinary. Almost everything's uniquely mapped, with a few exceptions for details like jutting stones or posts. I use tiling textures as a base for things like plaster and shingles, then paint a lot of unique details over them.
wow, its always great to see how other artists are obsessed about detail (except it pays off), and most importantly, that our craft can include long hours of tedium known to few others. thank god for internet tv.
Love it all except the walk-through itself. The walking-around-with-awkward-head-movement motions was really distracting. It shows the scale of things well, but thats about it. Studying interior camera shots and applying those to this would be the icing on this delicious cake.
I too love the lighting, presentation, and maybe even the composition, but almost all of your textures are extremely noisy which is a big turn off. The strong lighting and noise combined is just really harsh on the eyes, except for the last 3 pictures.
The think that annoys me is that once you set that type of shaders you can not use Arnold or Art, or any renderer apart of scaline that probably will look bad. Also you can not export that PBR material except to Stingray or his successor.
