Since this is about Gran Turismo, there's something I've been meaning to ask. How did they fake those reflections of the sun and sky on the playstation 1? Could the PS1 handle environment or cube maps? And what about the shadows? Are they just Shadow Volume or a texture that follows the car?
AAA isn't really enough of an description for an estimate AAA could mean for a game like civilisation, diablo3 or witcher, and it could be intended for a nintendo switch, playstation or pc just to give some examples
multi platform would be a great idea for sony since there were only 4 playstation 3's sold. they might want to try and sell a few more games than that.
I was literally on the verge to buy a Playstation just for RD2 ... I didnt  All I can hope for is a PC version. Do you guys think this will ever happen?
Got inspired by DemonPrincess's little elf girl, decided it'd make for a nice quick low poly character exercise, tis Fei, the main character from Xenogears, great RPG from the heyday of the playstation. Here's the concepts + my quick character sheet: Here's the model:
I hope that's what it is, like a portable playstation TV or ouya. I always thought nintendo would fit in really well to that whole low-cost living room device market.
I don't even know if I'm going to get a new console right away, but the points you listed are how I feel as well. I've never really liked the Playstation controller or their exclusive titles(except TLOU). I'm more comfortable with the Xbox controllers and the console in general.
Hm, I'm not sure I buy this design either. It looks a little underdeveloped (as opposed to the far over developed XBox and Playstation. Thats what... 4 fake revolutions I've seen this week, although admitedly one of them was an NES with a piece of paper with 'Revolution' written on it taped to the top.
Man they should have had this on stage at the keynote. Looks pretty interesting to me its good to see a couple of bigger budget VR titles on the way. I think they sort of stealth announced a wile back that the box the Playstation headset connects to would boost the systems processing power.
