Fun game, I played the japanese version (MUCH better version btw) about 4 or 5 months ago at a friends house. He already had DonkeyKonga 2 (japanese too) and he says its even better than the first.
[ QUOTE ] that doesnt sound japanese at all =?= not in a hundread years i wouldhave believed that a none japanese artist could pixel animte stuff like that [/ QUOTE ]He's Australian. You'll never get all of the in-jokes if you come from outside our little continent.
"What the Japanese are doing to our kids is insensitive and racist. The Japanese have for a very long time dumped pornography into this country in a fashion they would not tolerate in their own country. It is another version of Pearl Harbor." -Jack Thompson http://www.livejournal.com/users/gamepolitics/122526.html
this was all over the Japanese news! they interviewed a German guy who tried to sell the rabbits for $100 each but the Koreans only offered him $20 each. madness. Japanese news think they are breeding them for food. Makes sense really. Rabbit does taste nice.
I usually wouldn't say anything negative about a studio but having worked for many studios especially japanese ones, the only one I wouldn't return to would be cc2, the montreal one might be different but bringing japanese dev culture doesn't sound like a good start.
haha well I usually tend to stay away from it :P as I think only Japanese style is a bit plain, and if I start mixing all Asian cultures and call it japanese I'll probably get lynched. So I'll play it safe and say it's fantasy asian ;) .
Mario's Rollerball Slayer Sensual Wizard from Hell John Romero's Jungle Slam Ultimate WWII II Naughty Chess Gone Wild Japanese Quiz Madness The last one reminds me of the Japanese exam I have tomorrow. So, I better go and study some more.
You could but then the game would have to be a simulation of eating french fries with gravy. If you want a game about killing you have to have to play as an American-- that is what we are good at. Even the Japanese know better than to have Japanese player characters unless it is a dating sim or a farming game.
Native English Learned poor French in school Learned even poorer Japanese on my own time for shameful reasons It always really surprises people when I reveal that I can read Japanese, like they don't believe me. Me being a boring white Canadian guy, that is.
Odow is right. The scenery doesn't feel asian to me either. Since samurai are japanese you should look at a lot of japanese photos to get a feeling for the environment. And by environment I mean foliage and architecture. Maybe search for a photo-blog about japan or samurais I guess there are a few with great photography on…
