Woah srs?!?! ^ this needs to be added. another missing core workflow item. :/ edit: added a request for it to the ideas page: http://mayaltfeedback.autodesk.com/forums/215180-ideas-for-maya-lt-forum/suggestions/6178656-add-reference-editor-function
HotS looks nice but it very much lacks depth for a MOBA... no item builds no other stuff you can tweak and learn. Disappointing. Its going to be a MOBA for casual players mostly if they dont make some heavy changes.
@Telerak Thank you :) ! Day 6 on the support model. Mostly small random items like belts and glasses. And a bit of hair. Trying to find a way to connect the fins with his hands. Tomorrow I'm going to pose him.
Have you looked at it thru a color blind person's eyes? Some of your items are just color changes and makes it hard to process what it really is for that sort of player. Maybe you can give the wieners different hats.
Thank you! I have been having loads of problems with lighting, but most of the props are complete, and the gameplay is pretty much done. Plants are still going through items and things need to be rearranged, and the start room is still empty.
2K should be more than enough for a i7 920 processor, 12 gigs of ram, and a GTX 285, and I'd go for this case http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119160&cm_re=Haf-_-11-119-160-_-Product
For items without collisions, you could use a material which utilizes the world position offset. A good example would be foliage scaling and rotating randomly based on it's world position. It could even change textures and tint colours.
I've experienced that problem when I try to import multi-mesh object and the poly count is too high. What's the polycount on that item? Might be worth trying to import just half of the sub-meshes and see if the problem persists.
really really like the loose shingles, those are oft overlooked. It does come off as very monochrome though, maybe change the wood a bit, and add some thing like decals, or coloured items around th building?
Awesome shield. Hopefully Bethesda takes a more novel approach to some of their items like this in Skyrim compared to the fairly generic shields/armor in Oblivion. Did you base this off of a concept or were you just sketching in ZBrush?
