Nice bricks. But wood beams cloud be more aged/disorted. They are to straight, which cloud be nice looking of they were made from new polished wood. Also show wires, because I can't really see where all those tris coming from. From this screen I can tell you cloud easily cut them from roofs, they don't need to that smooth.
Camera moved too fast in that demo, add motion blur and video compression to that it was really hard to see anything well in that destruction flyby because of the blurriness. Only shot I did like however was with SSS. Better pics here: http://www.allgamesbeta.com/2013/02/this-is-unreal-engine-4-running-on.html Also what…
Yo working off any references or? some of the things that jump out at me are the differences in detail, the tiled floor is great, the brick walls are ok, the pillars don't fit in they don't blend with the wall or floor too well...do you have a high res version of these pillars? if so could i see? also the material is very…
well if you have a tileable mesh (bricks or whatnot), use GoZ and bring those into max and project that onto the plane for a normal map, AO and heightmap. if you've got a tileable mesh already then no need to use zbrush for the map making process. tho if you are still so inclined to use that process.. take a look at this…
ah tanks neox, my girlfriend has an surface pro - and its like a brick compared to the third one. The second one can be an much ceaper option too.. I think that i dont use the pen too often. The surface will be used for webdevelopment/surfing/movies - and photoshop image editing. Drawing and sculpting will be done but its…
Thanks! That one is in mine all-time top5 for sure :) It was a happy accident actually - those cuts were made by blending in the cavities of a rope substance, coloring it pink and changing roughness. Also, I haven't updated this thread with two more batches: Batch No.7 Favorite mat - Ammonite Fossil Batch No.8 Favorite…
Thanks kernersvillan! At Kojima we had a library of albedo textures with proper textures values in place. Such as tiling plaster or bricks, but of course from the base textures we can create our own color variations and different versions of textures, but the provided base materials were a great way to get a good start…
I agree FumeFx is a great way forward, it has a lot of tools for creating the types of effects you're looking to do. If you run into a brick wall and need more on screen, try layering several sims together. A lot of FX shops layer their particle simulations. They bake out several simulations often to point clouds and layer…
I made some planks and made an asset, and a tilable texture out of them. [ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lddOrWmLGLw"]Stylized planks in zBrush - YouTube[/ame] I used instancing in 3DCoat to make the planks tilable. I didn't record the process because I was still working things out, but I will record the next tilable…
I like seeing your progress. The very bright skylooks very strage compared to the dark lit castle. The castleis lit like nighttimte but the sky indicates daytime. A cool blue moonlight could work well together with the light from the fires. Also the texture on the wall in the middle an the stairs indicate that they are…
