Reading. Currently working my way through Josephus' Antiquities of the Jews, but it isn't very interesting so far; the first two books are a retelling of the Old Testament for the Greeks. It shouldn't be terribly surprising that I'll be a student of history come next monday :) .
Most schools are designed to train people for the workforce. All school tasks from getting to school on time, bell systems, lunch, class work are all structured to train students to do the mediocre boring jobs most do every day.
